Prince Fielder drove in four runs, Zack Greinke struck out six over seven effective innings and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Florida Marlins 7-2 on Monday at Sun Life Stadium to finish off their first four-game road sweep in nearly three years.
The Brewers hadn't swept a four-game road series since July 21-24, 2008 in St. Louis, and they entered the series with the National League's worst road record. But they won the first three games by one run and jumped on Marlins starter Javier Vazquez early in the finale. Vazquez (3-5) allowed six runs over four innings.
Greinke (5-1) has won five consecutive decisions, and the Brewers have won his past six starts. He allowed seven hits and one walk.
Fielder broke open a tie game with his team-leading 14th home run, a three-run shot in the third, and added an RBI single in the seventh. Milwaukee has hit at least one home run in 11 of its past 12 games.
The Marlins have lost 12 of 16 at home and seven of eight overall. They placed shortstop Hanley Ramirez on the disabled list Monday with inflammation in his lower back. Ramirez has not played since May 29.
