Adam LaRoche drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th inning as the visiting Washington Nationals snapped a three-game slide with a 3-2 victory over the Florida Marlins on Friday.
Jerry Hairston Jr. went 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Ian Desmond plated a run for the Nationals, who improved to 4-1 in extra-inning games.
After surviving a scare when the Marlins' Mike Stanton hit a drive to the warning track in the bottom of the ninth, Washington went to work against lefthander Mike Dunn (2-2) in the 10th. Jayson Werth started the rally with a one-out walk and moved to third when Laynce Nix doubled to right.
LaRoche followed and lifted a 2-1 pitch to the warning track in left, easily plating Werth from third with the sacrifice fly.
Drew Storen (2-1) pitched 1 2/3 innings to earn the win, and Sean Burnett needed only one pitch to record the final out with runners on second and third and secure his fourth save.
Florida squandered a strong effort from starter Ricky Nolasco, who struck out 11 in seven innings while allowing two runs - one earned - and six hits.
