Willie Harris hit a two-run home run to key a three-run first inning and Ike Davis added a solo shot in a four-run third, as the New York Mets spoiled veteran righthander Javier Vazquez's debut with the Florida Marlins, winning 9-2 to take two of three in the season-opening series between NL East rivals.
Vazquez (0-1) lasted just 2 1-3 innings, allowing seven runs -- four earned -- on six hits and walking five.
The Mets staked R.A. Dickey (1-0) to a 7-0 lead, and the knuckleballer made it hold up, limiting the Marlins to one unearned run on five hits while striking out seven over six innings.
The Marlins pulled within 7-2 and had the bases loaded in the seventh, but D.J. Carrasco struck out John Buck to end the inning.
Florida's bullpen kept it there -- with Brian Sanches working four hitless innings -- until New York scored two in the eighth.
After scoring just two runs on four hits in Friday's season-opening 6-2 loss, the Mets scored 15 runs on 21 hits in the final two games of the series.
Omar Infante and Gaby Sanchez each had two hits and an RBI for the Marlins.
