Carlos Ruiz hit a pinch-hit grand slam and added an RBI double Saturday as Philadelphia beat Atlanta 10-2 at Turner Field to even their best-of-three series.
It was the first homer of the season for Ruiz, his first career pinch-hit homer and his first career grand slam. The homer came off reliever Scott Linebrink and broke open a one-run game.
Philadelphia had taken a 3-2 lead in the fourth inning when catcher Brian Schneider hit a two-run, two-out homer. Ben Francisco drove in the first Phillies run in the first inning with an RBI single.
Shane Victorino was 4-for-5 with a double and scored two runs in the win.
Roy Oswalt (2-0) cruised to victory, allowing one run on five hits in six innings.
Brandon Beachy (0-1) took the loss after surrendering three runs in six innings. The Atlanta bullpen had its worst outing of the season, as George Sherrill, Linebrink and Cristhian Martinez each allowed two runs during their respective stints.
