Rookie Alexi Ogando (6-0) put his name in the Texas record books and pitched eight outstanding innings as the Rangers pulled away late for an 11-2 victory over the host Cleveland Indians Friday night.
Ogando, who allowed a run and four hits, has begun the season with 11 consecutive starts without a loss. He was tied with Gerald Alexander, who accomplished the feat in 1990-91, for the club record.
Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz each homered in a five-run seventh inning for Texas, which has won 14 of the last 17 against Cleveland, including nine of 10 here. The Rangers have won nine of 12 overall.
Cleveland starter Justin Masterson (5-4) dropped his fourth straight decision after winning his first five starts, allowing four runs and 10 hits in 6 1/3 innings.
Asdrubal Cabrera blasted his 11th homer of the season for Cleveland, which has dropped seven of 10.
