David DeJesus homered twice and Trevor Cahill pitched seven solid innings to lead the Oakland Athletics to a 3-1 victory over the visiting Cleveland Indians on Wednesday.

DeJesus was homerless this season before taking Josh Tomlin (4-1) deep in the first and fourth innings as Oakland snapped Cleveland’s seven-game winning streak.

Coco Crisp’s eighth-inning, run-scoring single scored Mark Ellis with an insurance run.

Cahill (5-0) gave up one run and five hits in seven innings, and has allowed one or fewer runs in six of his seven outings. Cahill struck out five and walked three.

Brad Ziegler retired Michael Brantley on a grounder with two on and two outs in the eighth, and Grant Balfour struck out two in the ninth for his first save of the season.

Cleveland’s lone run against Cahill came in the third when Grady Sizemore led off with a double, Carlos Santana drew a two-walk and Travis Hafner delivered a single to center to score Sizemore.

The two-homer game was the first of DeJesus’ career.

Tomlin allowed three hits in 7 2/3 innings and departed after Cliff Pennington’s single in the eighth. Crisp followed with his run-scoring hit against reliever Tony Sipp for the third run charged to Tomlin.
