Conor Jackson hit a two-run double in the seventh inning as the Oakland Athletics erased a three-run deficit Monday to record a 7-5 home victory over the struggling Tampa Bay Rays.
After Scott Sizemore lifted a sacrifice fly in the sixth to draw Tampa Bay within 5-3, David DeJesus hit an RBI single an inning later to chase J.P. Howell (2-2). Joel Peralta came on and yielded the double by Jackson, who has posted multi-hit performances in three of his last four games.
Brian Fuentes (2-8) retired both batters he faced to notch the win and Andrew Bailey tossed a scoreless ninth for his 12th save in 14 opportunities.
Cliff Pennington hit a two-run homer and Coco Crisp added an RBI double for Oakland, which has won five of its last six home games.
Ben Zobrist and Kelly Shoppach went deep for the Rays, who have lost nine of 13.
