The Indians, who won the opener 4-3, lead the White Sox by 1 1/2 games in the battle for second place in the American League Central.

Gordon Beckham became the first White Sox player to have three doubles in a game since Aaron Rowand in 2005.

Matt Thornton (2-5) worked 1 1/3 innings while Chris Sale picked up his sixth save as Chicago's bullpen pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings.

The White Sox trailed 4-0 before Beckham's double in the fifth scored Chicago's first run. Alejandro De Aza's two-run double in the sixth made it 4-3.

Juan Pierre's RBI groundout tied the game in the seventh before Ramirez put the White Sox ahead against Zach Putnam (0-1).
