Ryan Raburn homered and drove in four runs to lead the Detroit Tigers to a 9-3 rout of the visiting Chicago White Sox on Friday.
The Tigers (10-10) took a 2-0 lead in the second inning when Jhonny Peralta drove in a run with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly by Brennan Boesch. Raburn added a two-run homer in the third against Mark Buehrle (1-2).
Chicago (8-12) got as close as 6-3 in the seventh before the Tigers put it away with three runs in the eighth. Raburn capped the scoring with a two-run single to left.
Justin Verlander (2-2) went seven innings, scattered four hits and struck out eight. He allowed three runs, all on solo homers — two by Carlos Quentin and one by Paul Konerko.
