Howard Kendrick and Hank Conger drove in three runs apiece, and Tyler Chatwood earned his first big-league victory as the visiting Los Angeles Angels coasted to a 7-2 rout of the Chicago White Sox on Saturday.
After rain delayed the first pitch by nearly two and a half hours, the Angels (9-5) jumped on top in the second inning when Vernon Wells doubled, took third on a fly ball and scored on a two-out wild pitch by Gavin Floyd (1-1). Kendrick's two-run homer in the third made it 3-0.
Chicago got on the board against Chatwood (1-1) in the fifth inning on a solo home run by Carlos Quentin, but Conger responded with a three-run shot to right in the top of the sixth. Kendrick added an RBI single an inning later against Will Ohman to give the Angels a six-run cushion.
That was more than enough for Chatwood, who allowed five hits over seven innings and struck out three. Floyd allowed six runs on eight hits in six innings.
Paul Konerko hit a solo homer in the ninth for Chicago (7-7).
