Robert Andino and Josh Bell each drove in two runs during a four-run seventh inning as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the host Oakland Athletics 6-2 on Monday.
Tommy Hunter (2-2) gave up two runs in 6 2/3 innings innings to pick up his first victory since joining Baltimore at the trading deadline while handing Oakland its fourth straight loss.
Matt Wieters and Mark Reynolds hit solo homers for the Orioles.
Gio Gonzalez (9-11) lost his fifth straight start as the Athletics fell for just the second time in their last 14 home games against Baltimore.
Gonzalez allowed just two hits over the first six innings before tiring in the seventh. Adam Jones and Vladimir Guerrero started the inning with singles and Wieters walked to end Gonzalez’s night.
One out later, Andino drilled a bases-loaded double off Fautino De Los Santos that sailed over the head of Oakland center fielder Coco Crisp to drive in Jones and Guerrero. Bell followed with a two-run single to make it 5-2.
Both Oakland runs came in the second. David DeJesus doubled in one and Cliff Pennington singled home the other.
Hunter allowed 10 hits and walked one. Gonzalez gave up four runs and four hits in six innings.
