Buster Posey homered among four hits and Juan Uribe drove in three runs as the San Francisco Giants came from behind to top the Washington Nationals, 10-5, on Saturday.
Aaron Rowand added a solo blast and starting pitcher Jonathan Sanchez managed to drive in two in his brief outing for the Giants, who have won five of six.
Trailing 5-3 after the fourth, San Francisco knocked Nationals starter Craig Stammen out with a run in the sixth on Uribe’s sacrifice fly and then got to the bullpen in the seventh, pushing across four runs to grab the lead. Rowand’s solo blast - his eighth of the season - off Tyler Clippard (8-6) tied it a 5-5 and rookie sensation Posey followed a pair of walks with an RBI single to give the Giants the lead.
Washington removed Clippard after Posey’s hit, but Doug Slaten allowed two inherited runners to score on Uribe’s double. Posey capped the scoring with a two-run homer in the ninth.
Sanchez managed to avoid the loss despite allowing a season-high five runs on five hits in 3 2/3 innings. The left-hander struck out six and walked two in his short stint before Santiago Casilla (2-2) got the win in relief.
