Ryan Braun homered and drove in four runs and Chris Capuano threw seven strong innings to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to an 8-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday at Miller Park.
Capuano (3-3) held the Cardinals to one run and four hits to pick up the victory. His only mistake was Albert Pujols' solo homer in the first, his 36th of the season. Pujols also added a double in the sixth.
Braun tied it at 1-1 with an RBI single in the third and scored the go-ahead run later in the inning on Casey McGehee's two-run single.
The Brewers added four more in the fourth, with Braun's three-run homer - his 20th blast of the season - doing the bulk of the damage.
Corey Hart added two hits and an RBI for the Brewers, who took two of three in the series. Milwaukee claimed eight of 15 meetings this season.
St. Louis rookie starter Jaime Garcia (13-7) took the loss, allowing seven runs and seven hits over four innings.
