Chris Dickerson drove in three runs and Ryan Braun hit a two-run homer as the Milwaukee Brewers completed a three-game sweep with an 8-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday.
George Kottaras added two hits and an RBI and Alcides Escobar drove in a run for the Brewers, who scored 23 runs in the three-game series.
Charlie Morton was statistically the worst pitcher in the majors when the Pirates sent him to the minors at the end of May, and apparently nothing has changed. Making his return to the big leagues, Morton (1-10) allowed three runs in the first, three in the third and two more in the fourth before being removed. His major league ERA now sits at 10.03.
Dickerson drove in the first two runs and added an RBI groundout to get the rally started in the third. Braun finished the contest with four hits and three runs scored and he was responsible for ending Morton’s afternoon with his 19th blast of the season in the fourth.
Dave Bush (7-11) hung around for seven innings to earn the win for Milwaukee, yielding four runs - three earned - and seven hits while walking two and striking out four.
