Alcides Escobar and Ryan Braun drove in two runs apiece during a six-run seventh to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 7-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday.
Corey Hart added two RBIs and Jonathan Lucroy drove in a run and scored a pair for the Brewers, who snapped a four-game slide.
James McDonald looked like he was in good shape with a 2-1 lead in the seventh, but the right-hander walked Prince Fielder to lead off the frame and allowed a one-out single to Chris Dickerson before Escobar’s two-run triple gave Milwaukee a 3-2 lead. The inning got away from McDonald (2-4) after that as Lucroy followed with an RBI single and Joe Inglett singled before he was removed.
Hart added an RBI double and Braun drove in two more to complete the big frame.
Chris Narveson (10-7) pitched seven strong innings for the Brewers, allowing two runs and seven hits while striking out eight and walking one.
Chris Snyder homered and Ronny Cedeno added an RBI single for the Pirates, who missed out on an opportunity for their first three-game winning streak since May.
