New York Mets fans have a message for their team after Wednesday’s 7-3 home win over the L.A. Dodgers: hurry back.
The victory for the Mets gave them their best home stand since 1988, making them 9-1 in their latest defense of Citi Field.
David Wright propelled a 4-run second inning with four RBIs for the Mets while John Maine tossed six solid innings in his best start of the year. Dodgers lefty John Ely took the loss for struggling L.A., now 8-13 on the season.
New York now heads to Philly for a weekend series, followed by a 3-game set with the Reds. The Dodgers now return home after going 2-7 on their road trip.
