Tim Lincecum pitched six shutout innings and helped his cause with three hits and three RBIs to lead the San Francisco Giants to a 9-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday afternoon.
Lincecum (3-0) struck out seven and allowed just four hits against two walks. At the plate, his RBIs all came in the first three innings as the Giants jump out to a 5-0 lead.
Dodgers knuckleballer Charlie Haeger (0-1) had a rough outing, allowing seven runs -- five earned -- and seven hits with five walks in three-plus innings.
Lincecum’s bunt single in the second inning scored Bengie Molina and he added a two-run single in the Giants’ four-run third for the five-run advantage.
San Francisco leadoff hitter Eugenio Velez reached base four times, going 3-for-5 with a walk.
Matt Kemp saw his four-game homer streak end as the Dodgers were shut out for the first time this season.
