Andre Ethier hit a pair of home runs, including a grand slam, and the Los Angeles Dodgers held on for a 10-8 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Friday.
Matt Kemp homered for the fourth straight game and Blake DeWitt had a pair of RBIs for the Dodgers, who built up a 7-0 lead after two innings.
Vicente Padilla (1-1) went seven innings, allowing three runs on four hits with seven strike outs.
The Giants made a game of it with five runs in the top of the ninth, including a two-out, three-run homer by Eugenio Velez that cut it to a two-run contest.
Rafael Furcal reached base to start the game and scored on Kemp’s blast. Ethier followed up with a solo shot, before unloading the bases-clearer in the second inning for his third homer in two days.
