Jeff Keppinger drove in four runs and the Houston Astros struck late for a 9-4 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday.
Chris Johnson had a pair of RBIs and Hunter Pence, Carlos Lee and Brett Wallace each had an RBI apiece for the Astros, who won their sixth in a row.
Houston trailed by a run after the seventh inning before breaking it open by scoring seven runs over the final two frames. Keppinger’s double in the eighth evened things up and Johnson’s fielder’s choice two batters later put them ahead, 5-4.
Nelson Figueroa (3-1) allowed a run in one inning of relief to earn the win after starter Brett Myers surrendered three runs - two earned - on three hits over six innings.
Albert Pujols homered and Felipe Lopez had an RBI double for St. Louis, which snapped a three-game winning streak.
Mike MacDougal (1-1) surrendered a run in relief to take the loss.
Wallace, who was acquired in a trade with Toronto, drove in the first run of his career with an infield single in the fourth.
