Wandy Rodriguez tossed seven solid innings and broke a tie game by laying down a perfect squeeze bunt to lead the Houston Astros to a 5-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday afternoon.
Chris Johnson had a pair of RBIs and Lance Berkman drove in a run as Houston took two of three in the series.
The Brewers grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the second on an RBI groundout from Jonathan Lucroy. But that proved to be the only run Rodriguez (5-10) would allow as he gave up seven hits with a walk and six strikeouts to snap a personal three-game losing skid.
After the Astros tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth inning when Geoff Blum scored on a wild pitch, Rodriguez brought in the go-ahead run with a suicide squeeze in the sixth.
Houston extended its lead in the seventh with an RBI double from Berkman and then a two-run double from Johnson later in the inning. Brandon Lyon and Matt Lindstrom preserved the advantage with two hitless frames.
Milwaukee starter Dave Bush (3-6) went six innings, allowing two runs on five hits with five walks and three strikeouts.
Corey Hart had a pair of hits, extending his hitting streak to 15 games, for the Brewers.
