Roy Oswalt tossed eight dominant innings and Carlos Lee drove in a pair of runs to lead the Houston Astros to a 5-0 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday.
Oswalt has been the subject of much trade speculation since Friday when he asked the Houston front office to be moved to a contender. If Wednesday's start was an audition, potential suitors had to like what they saw.
Oswalt (3-6) allowed four hits and a walk while striking out nine and lowering his ERA to 2.35. Brandon Lyon came on in the ninth to finish up for the Astros, who snapped a three-game slide.
Lee had RBI singles in the first and third innings to help stake the Astros to a 3-0 lead, more than enough of a cushion for Oswalt.
Michael Bourn, Hunter Pence and Lance Berkman added an RBI each for Houston.
Brewers starter Chris Narveson (4-2) took the loss, allowing four runs and eight hits in just four innings.
