Brett Myers pitched his second complete game of the season and Lance Berkman hit a grand slam to lead the Houston Astros to a 6-1 romp over the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday.
Hunter Pence added an RBI single and Angel Sanchez plated a run on a groundout for the Astros, who have taken three of four from the Cubs in the last eight days.
Myers (8-6) struck out a season-high 12 and allowed four hits while walking one. The veteran right-hander has not lost since June 29 and has surrendered two runs or less in each of his last five starts.
Ted Lilly started for Chicago and breezed through the first 5 2/3 innings before walking two straight batters. Rookie Andrew Cashner (1-4) came on and got the final out of the sixth to keep it scoreless but was not so lucky in the seventh, giving up two runs before loading the bases in front of Berkman, who broke the game open with his 13th homer of the season.
Tyler Colvin broke up the shutout with a solo homer in the top of the ninth for the Cubs, his 16th of the campaign.
