Chipper Jones and Brian McCann combined for six hits and five RBIs - including back-to-back home runs in the third inning - to carry the Atlanta Braves to an 8-3 victory over the New York Mets on Wednesday.
The Braves took two of three in the series and have not lost a home series since dropping two of three to Philadelphia on April 20-22.
Jones tied it at 2 in the third with his ninth homer of the season and McCann gave Atlanta the lead one batter later with his 15th homer of the season. McCann also had a pair of RBI doubles to finish 3-for-5 with three RBIs, while Jones was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored.
Melky Cabrera added a solo homer in the eighth to close the scoring.
Left-hander Mike Dunn (1-0) pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief for his first major-league win after starter Kris Medlen left with one out in the fifth because of an injured elbow.
Mike Pelfrey (10-6) allowed five runs - three earned - on eight hits over 4 2/3 innings to lose his fourth consecutive decision.
Luis Castillo, Angel Pagan and Carlos Beltran drove in runs for the Mets, who made four errors which led to four unearned runs.
