Brian McCann hit his sixth career grand slam, Matt Diaz homered and drove in three runs and Omar Infante had four hits and two RBIs as the Atlanta Braves salvaged a four-game split with an 11-6 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday at Turner Field.
The Braves teed off on Brewers starter Manny Parra (3-7), pounding the left-hander for 10 runs on 10 hits over 5 1/3 innings.
McCann did half the damage, barely clearing the right-field fence with his grand slam in the third inning and adding a fifth RBI with a bases-loaded walk in the sixth.
Diaz knocked in runs with a double in the second, a solo homer in the fifth and a single in the sixth.
The generous run support was a welcome change for Braves starter Derek Lowe, for whom the Braves had scored a total of three runs in his previous four starts. Lowe (10-8) allowed three runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings.
Rickie Weeks hit a pair of solo homers for Milwaukee – his 16th and 17th – and Prince Fielder added a solo shot, his 22nd of the year. Fielder also had an RBI single, and Ryan Braun had three hits and an RBI for the Brewers.
