Johan Santana threw seven scoreless innings and Ike Davis hit a home run as the New York Mets salvaged the final game of their series with a 3-0 win over the Atlanta Braves Sunday at Citi Field.
Santana (7-5) backed up his first shutout since 2008 with another strong outing, running his scoreless inning streak to 16. He allowed five hits and three walk and the Mets' bullpen protected the lead with two perfect innings.
Bobby Parnell pitched the eighth and Francisco Rodriguez worked the ninth for his 21st save.
Alex Cora gave the Mets the lead with an RBI single in the third and Davis added to the advantage with his 11th homer, a solo shot in the sixth. Josh Thole added the final run with an RBI single in the eighth.
Angel Pagan had three hits for the Mets for the second consecutive game, while Davis and Chris Carter added two hits apiece.
Braves starter Derek Lowe (9-8) allowed two runs on eight hits and left with one out in the sixth.
Omar Infante and Matt Diaz had two hits apiece for Atlanta, which won the first two games in the series and holds a four-game lead in the National League East going into the All-Star break.
