Chris Denorfia homered twice and finished with four hits to lead the San Diego Padres to a 6-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday.
One of the more offensively challenged clubs in the National League,the NL West-leading Padres scored 26 runs while completing a three-game sweep of the Diamondbacks to get their second half off to a strong start.
Denorfia hit a solo homer in the second to cut an early 2-0 Arizona lead in half. He added a solo shot in the eighth to put San Diego in front 5-2.
Denorfia went 4-for-4 and scored three times.
Kevin Correia (6-6) picked up the win by yielding three runs and seven hits in six innings. Heath Bell gave up a run and two hits in the ninth but still earned his 26th save.
Edwin Jackson (6-8) took the loss, allowing four runs and nine hits in 6 1/3 innings. Jackson struck out seven but also issued four walks.
Justin Upton went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs for the Diamondbacks.
