The St. Louis Cardinals scored three runs in the ninth inning thanks to two Arizona errors, rallying for a 6-5 win over the Diamondbacks on Monday night.

The Diamondbacks entered the ninth with a 5-3 lead before giving the game away. Singles by Yadier Molina and Brendan Ryan started the rally off Dan Haren, who was then replaced by Aaron Heilman.

Pinch-hitter Adam Wainright bunted and Heilman (2-2) threw wildly to third, allowing pinch-runner Jaime Garcia to score while putting runners at second and third.

After a groundout, Skip Schumaker hit a grounder to first baseman Adam LaRoche, who bobbled the ball. His throw home to try and nail Ryan was in the dirt as Wainwright also came around to score the winning run.

Jason Motte (3-2) got the win for St. Louis with 1 1/3 innings of relief.

Neither starting pitcher figured in the decision. Chris Carpenter allowed three runs in seven innings while Haren, who also homered, was charged with five runs in eight innings.

LaRoche and Mark Reynolds also homered for Arizona, which scored five unanswered runs to grab the lead.

Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa was ejected in the ninth by home plate umpire Mark Carlson for arguing balls and strikes.
