Jose Lopez hit a two-run homer to give the Seattle Mariners the lead and Milton Bradley added a solo blast en route to a 5-4 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday.
Franklin Gutierrez added an RBI double and Chone Figgins stole a base and scored a run for the Mariners, who snapped a two-game slide.
Seattle grabbed an early 2-0 lead after Bradley’s seventh homer of the season in the third but watched the lead slip away when Corey Hart doubled in two runs and scored on an error ahead of Prince Fielder’s homer in the bottom of the third.
The Mariners came right back, however, when Gutierrez’s double brought them within one before Lopez gave the team the lead with his fifth homer of the season.
Doug Fister, who was making his first start after spending nearly four weeks on the disabled list due to shoulder fatigue, lasted just four innings for Seattle, allowing all four runs on five hits. Right-hander Brian Sweeney (1-0) tossed four innings of scoreless relief - yielding one hit - for the win and Brandon League worked the ninth for his second save.
Randy Wolf (5-7) allowed five runs - four earned - on eight hits in five innings to suffer the loss for the Brewers, who had their five-game winning streak snapped.
