Adam Moore homered and had two RBIs and the Seattle Mariners used a five-run second inning for a 7-5 victory over the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday night.
The Mariners had scored three runs or fewer in 11 consecutive games, but surpassed that total in the second inning alone. They scored the five runs on seven hits and an error against Dallas Braden (9-11).
Casey Kotchman, Josh Wilson, Ichiro Suzuki and Russell Branyan all had RBI singles and Moore drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
Moore added a solo homer in the third and Kotchman had a sacrifice fly in the seventh.
Seattle's Doug Fister (5-11) beat Oakland for the second straight time and picked up his first road victory since May 14 at Tampa Bay. He allowed two runs on five hits in five innings with four strikeouts and four walks.
Reliever Brandon League got in trouble by allowing three runs with two outs in the ninth, but closer David Aardsma came on to record the final out and log his 29th save of the season.
Braden allowed six runs on nine hits in five innings to take the loss, and Oakland saw its six-game winning streak against the Mariners end.
Oakland's Kurt Suzuki had a two-run single in the fifth and Coco Crisp had a two-run single in the ninth.
