Trevor Cahill outpitched Barry Zito and Rajai Davis had three RBIs as the Oakland Athletics defeated the visiting San Francisco Giants 6-1 on Friday night.
Cahill (2-2) allowed one run and six hits in 6 2/3 innings. He struck out four and walked one.
Davis had a two-run double in the bottom of the third for the first two Oakland runs and hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh.
Zito (6-2) struggled against his former organization and allowed six runs and nine hits in 6 2/3 innings.
Oakland center fielder Coco Crisp, playing for the first time since injuring a pinkie late in spring training, went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Ryan Sweeney had an RBI-single in the sixth to give Oakland a 4-0 lead.
San Francisco’s run came in the seventh when Andres Torres doubled home John Bowker.
Brad Ziegler replaced Cahill and pitched 1 1/3 scoreless inning and Craig Breslow pitched a scoreless ninth.
