Jason Kubel's sacrifice fly with the bases loaded in the 12th inning scored Joe Mauer as the Minnesota Twins defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 8-7 Saturday at Target Field.

Trailing 6-2 going into the ninth, the Brewers scored five runs to take the lead, but still lost for the 11th time in 12 games.

Alexi Casilla drew a leadoff walk from Manny Parra (0-3) in the 12th and took second on Mauer's fourth hit, a single to left. Justin Morneau walked on a 3-2 pitch to load the bases.

Michael Cuddyer's ground ball led to Casilla being forced out at home, but Kubel's fly ball to right was deep enough to score Mauer, who slid home as the winning run.

Parra was Milwaukee's scheduled starter for Sunday's series finale.

Jesse Crain (1-0) pitched the top of the 12th.

The Twins scored four times in the first and still led by four after eight innings before the Brewers rallied. Milwaukee loaded the bases against Ron Mahay with nobody out. Closer Jon Rauch relieved him, but Rickie Weeks' two-run double made it 6-4 before former Twin Carlos Gomez tied the game with a two-run single.

Ryan Braun lined into a double play, but Prince Fielder walked and scored when Casey McGehee doubled off the left field wall.

Carlos Villanveua subbed for Trevor Hoffman in the closer's role, but couldn't hold the lead. Morneau led off with a double. Cuddyer's single moved Morneau to third. After Jason Kubel struck out, Delmon Young's ground-rule double to left tied the game. Pinch-hitter Jim Thome was intentionally walked to load the bases, but Nick Punto struck out and Denard Span flied out to deep right.

The Twins loaded the bases again in the 10th, but Corey Hart made a leaping catch of Young's drive at the wall in right field.

Milwaukee starter Yovani Gallardo allowed four runs in six innings, all coming in the first.

Twins starter Kevin Slowey gave up two runs, including Hart's solo homer in the sixth, in 6 2/3 innings.
