Trevor Cahill pitched six shutout innings in leading the Oakland Athletics to a 3-1 win over the listless Los Angeles Angels on Saturday.
Cahill (15-6) worked around six walks while allowing four hits and striking out four.
Andrew Bailey pitched the ninth for his 21st save and finished the second straight game where Oakland's pitchers dominated Los Angeles hitters. The A's blanked the Angels 8-0 on Friday night.
Jered Weaver (11-11) pitched well again, but his teammates managed only five hits and didn't score until Torii Hunter hit a solo home run with one out in the eighth off Craig Breslow.
Weaver allowed three runs and six hits in seven innings. The right-hander, who was tied with Seattle's Felix Hernandez for the league lead with 200 strikeouts, struck out five.
Jack Cust's RBI single in the first gave Oakland the lead. Daric Barton started the inning with a single and moved to second on a groundout before scoring on Cust's hit.
Cliff Pennington's RBI single in the second scored Rajai Davis, who doubled to start the rally.
Mark Ellis added an RBI single in the sixth.
