Torii Hunter homered and drove in three and Hideki Matsui drove in a pair of runs to lead the Los Angeles Angels to a 7-2 win over the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday.
Scott Kazmir (4-5) lasted 5 1/3 innings to earn the win and Kevin Fransden recorded two hits for the Angels, who have won four of five and six of eight.
Hunter got Los Angeles on the board in the first with a two-run single off Kansas City right-hander Kyle Davies, bringing Macier Izturis and Bobby Abreu home.
The Royals got a run back in the third but the Angels kept the pressure on, pushing two more across in the fourth on RBI hits by Juan Rivera and Fransden.
Matsuiās two-run single in the sixth closed the book on Davies (4-4), who has surrendered 11 runs and 15 hits in nine combined innings over his last two starts.
Hunter capped the scoring with a solo blast in the seventh - his eighth blast of the season.
David DeJesus had two hits and the lone RBI for Kansas City.
