R.A. Dickey became the first pitcher to win his first six decisions with the New York Mets, shutting out the Detroit Tigers for eight innings in the a 5-0 win on Wednesday.
Dickey (6-0) allowed four hits and two walks, striking out four and lowering his ERA to 2.33. Francisco Rodriguez pitched the ninth to finish off the Mets' 10th shutout of the season.
Jose Reyes finished a double short of the cycle, going 3-for-4 and scoring three runs for New York, which has won 12 of 13 at home and 14 of 17 overall.
The Mets took the lead on David Wright's RBI double in the third and added to it with Reyes' solo homer in the fifth. Jesus Feliciano added an RBI groundout and Ike Davis had a two-run single in the seventh.
Jeremy Bonderman (3-5) took the loss for Detroit, allowing four runs on seven hits in six-plus innings.
