Jeremy Bonderman pitched seven strong innings and Miguel Cabrera drove in three runs, leading the Detroit Tigers to an 8-3 win over the Washington Nationals on Thursday.
The victory gave the Tigers a sweep of the three-game series as they have now won six straight and 10 of 12.
Bonderman (3-4) allowed two runs and five hits in seven innings. He struck out seven and didn't walk a batter.
Cabrera had a two-run double in the fifth and an RBI single in the sixth to pace Detroit's 19-hit attack as eight different players had at least two hits apiece. Ramon Santiago was 4-for-4 with a run batted in. Alex Avila opened the Tigers' scoring in the second with a two-run double.
Washington starter Luis Atilano (5-4) allowed five runs in 4 1/3 innings.
Adam Dunn hit a solo homer in the seventh and drove in two runs for Washington, which has lost five of six.
