Lastings Milledge had four RBIs and Andrew McCutchen scored four times as the Pittsburgh Pirates ended a miserable 12-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Cleveland Indians.
It was the Pirates’ first victory since June 5 and their first win in interleague play this season.
Milledge had an RBI single in the first, tripled home a pair in the third and doubled home another in the fifth, all off Indians starter David Huff. McCutchen singled, tripled and walked three times.
Huff (2-9) allowed five runs in five innings in falling to 0-6 on the road.
Russell Branyan’s three-run homer in the sixth inning, his ninth of the season, off Pirates starter Jeff Karstens supplied most of the Indians’ damage.
Karstens (2-2) allowed four runs in 5 1/3 innings to win for the first time since May 8. Octavio Dotel pitched a scoreless ninth for his 13th save.
