Asdrubal Cabrera had three hits and scored twice and Shin-Soo Choo hit a home run and drove in two to lead the Cleveland Indians to a 7-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Friday.
Cleveland jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the top of the first. After the White Sox clawed back with a run in the first and second, the Indians tacked on three more in the third en route to their seventh straight win, their longest such streak since September 15-22, 2008.
Cabrera put the Indians up 1-0 in the first and scored on Choo's two-run shot later in the inning, his 22nd homer of the season. Cabrera scored again in the third and the White Sox couldn't keep up.
Fausto Carmona (13-14) picked up the win by once again mastering the White Sox. Carmona allowed two runs and five hits in six innings while striking out seven as he improved to 3-0 against Chicago this season. He has won seven seven straight starts against the White Sox and has not lost to them since April 13, 2007.
Tony Pena (5-3) took the loss. He yielded six runs and nine hits in six innings with two walks and two strikeouts.
Brent Morel homered for Chicago, which had won three straight and seven of its last eight entering this season-ending set with Cleveland.
