Carlos Quentin had two hits and scored twice to lift the Chicago White Sox to a 3-1 win over the Boston Red Sox and a sweep of their doubleheader at Fenway Park on Saturday.

Chicago also won the first game 3-1.

The two-win Saturday allowed the White Sox to inch a half-game closer to the Minnesota Twins in the American League Central race. The Twins beat Texas 12-4 and lead Chicago by 3 1/2 games.

Gavin Floyd (10-11) notched the win, allowing a run on five hits in six innings. Bobby Jenks saved both games.

John Lackey (12-9) took the loss. Lackey yielded just one earned run over seven innings on four hits. He struck out seven.

The White Sox opened the scoring in the third after Quentin tripled to center field. With one out, Gordon Beckham hit a grounder to Victor Martinez at first base. Martinez threw the ball to the plate but catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia dropped it following a slight collision with Quentin.

Boston tied the game at 1-1 on an RBI single by Marco Scutaro in the fifth.

Chicago took the lead for good in the seventh. Quentin doubled with Mark Teahen aboard and Teahen scored on center fielder Ryan Kalish's error. Ramon Castro then plated Quentin on a sacrifice fly to make it 3-1.

Manny Ramirez, who had two hits in the opener, went 1-for-4 in the nightcap.
