Jon Lester threw a complete-game six-hitter and Kevin Youkilis drove in four runs to power the Boston Red Sox to a 6-1 win over the Minnesota Twins on Thursday night.
Lester (4-2) struck out nine to register Boston’s first complete game of the season.
Adrian Beltre homered off loser Francisco Liriano (4-3) to open the scoring in the second inning.
Youkilis cracked a three-run homer with two outs in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 4-0. He later doubled to score Victor Martinez in the fifth inning again with two outs to make it 5-0.
Boston scored its final run on a wild pitch in the seventh inning en route to sweeping the two-game series from the Twins to run its win streak to three straight games.
The Twins got on the board on a Delmon Young sacrifice fly in the eighth inning. They added an unearned run in the ninth inning on an RBI grounder by Joe Mauer.
