Nick Markakis and Adam Jones had homers and Jake Arrieta tossed six shutout innings as the Baltimore clinched its fourth consecutive series victory Tuesday, walloping the visiting Toronto Blue Jays 11-3.
The win marks the first time the Orioles have won four series in a row since 2004.
Markakis belted a solo homer, his 10th of the season, as part of a two-run fifth inning that extended Baltimore's lead to 3-0. The Orioles broke it open with a six-run seventh, and Jones hit a two-run shot, his 18th of the year, to add some insurance in the eighth.
Arrieta (6-6) took care of things on the defensive end, scattering four hits while walking one and striking out five.
Jones and Ronny Andino each finished with two hits and three RBIs, while Matt Wieters finished 3-for-5 to bolster Baltimore's 16-hit attack.
Aaron Hill's 24th home run of the season, a three-run bomb in the eighth inning, provided the lone offense for the Jays. It also extended their streak of consecutive games with a home run to 16.
Toronto starter Shawn Hill (0-2) was tagged for three runs, two earned, on nine hits through 5 2/3 innings in his second start of the season.
