Craig Tatum drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home the winning run in a wild eighth inning as the Baltimore Orioles rallied to beat the Texas Rangers 6-4 on Thursday.
The Orioles trailed 4-1 before scoring twice in the seventh frame to trim the lead to one. Nick Markakis opened the eighth by reaching on an Elvis Andrus error and promptly stole second base.
Ty Wigginton singled and Adam Jones was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Darren Oliver relieved Frank Francisco and promptly plunked Felix Pie to bring home Markakis with the tying run. Tatum followed by drawing a walk to score Cesar Izturis, who ran for Wigginton.
Julio Lugo extended the lead with a two-out single as Baltimore ended its three-game losing streak.
David Hernandez (4-7) earned the victory with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief, while Alfredo Simon twirled a scoreless ninth inning for his 11th save.
Baltimore starter Jeremy Guthrie tossed 4 2/3 innings, allowing four runs on seven hits while walking five.
Tommy Hunter picked up a no-decision for Texas, surrendering three runs on seven hits over six innings. He walked one and struck out seven.
Francisco (6-4) took the loss after allowing three runners to reach base without recording an out.
