Freddy Sanchez finished with four RBIs and Jonathan Sanchez limited Baltimore to two runs as the San Francisco Giants pounded the hapless Orioles 10-2 in the first game of the three-game interleague series on Monday.
Freddy Sanchez hit a two-run single in a five-run second inning off starter Chris Tillman and then added another two-run single in the four-run eighth inning to push the lead to 10-2.
Jonathan Sanchez picked up his third win in his last four starts to improve to 5-5 as the left-hander allowed two earned in 7 2/3 innings. He gave up eight hits, one walk and struck out five.
Leadoff man Andres Torres had two hits and drove in two runs to back Sanchez as San Francisco won its fourth straight.
Corey Patterson and Ty Wigginton managed two hits each and Matt Wieters hit his fifth home run for Baltimore, which has the worst record in the majors at 17-47.
Tillman (0-3) was roughed up for the fourth time in as many starts. He lasted just two innings, allowing six hits, six earned runs with a walk and strikeout.
