Tyler Nickel canned five 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 19 points, Jason Edwards added 17 points and Tyler Tanner had career highs in points (16) and rebounds (seven) for the Commodores.

AJ Hoggard added seven points, eight assists and three steals for Vanderbilt (12-1), which cracked 100 points for the third time this season and its second in the last three contests.

James White, who entered the game as the Southland Conference's leading scorer (19.2), scored 18 on 17 shots for the Privateers (2-11).

New Orleans committed 22 turnovers to Vanderbilt's nine.

It extended Vanderbilt's winning streak to six games heading into Saturday's Southeastern Conference opener at LSU.

New Orleans has lost seven in a row, all coming on the road.

The Commodores led by 21 or more the entire second half. They reeled off an 11-0 run early in the second half, which ended when Nickel canned a 3 with 16:49 to play, making the lead 62-30.

New Orleans seemed determined to make things difficult in the paint for Vanderbilt, which ranked seventh in the country in 2-point percentage (61.2 percent) coming in. The Privateers did a good job contesting everything close and held the Commodores to 38.1 percent shooting on 2s before the break.

It didn't matter. Vanderbilt took advantage of the attention inside by going 8-of-17 (47.1%) on 3-pointers in the half, supplementing that with an 11-of-11 showing from the foul line to take a 51-28 lead at the break.

Nickel's 3 with 2:18 left in the first period gave Vanderbilt the game's first 20-point lead, coming amid a 13-0 Commodores run.

McGlockton earned his third double-double this season, the others coming in Vanderbilt's first two games.

Tanner, a true freshman who's logged 271 minutes this season, has 29 assists and a team-leading 32 steals and has yet to commit a turnover while playing all 13 games.
