Brandon Lowe clubbed a go-ahead three-run homer in the seventh inning, and the Tampa Bay Rays won their fourth in a row, 3-1 over the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday night in Anaheim, Calif.

After failing to take advantage of six walks issued by Los Angeles star Shohei Ohtani (2.41 ERA), the Rays finally broke through off reliever Junior Guerra in the seventh.

With the Rays trailing 1-0, Brett Phillips opened the inning with a walk and Willy Adames followed with a single. Lowe then drove the ball well over the center field fence for his fifth home run of the season.

After taking the first three of this four-game set, Tampa Bay has won eight of its past nine road games. The Rays prevailed Wednesday despite amassing just four hits.

The Angels, meanwhile, have totaled just seven runs during their four-game losing streak. Facing four Rays pitchers on Wednesday, Los Angeles recorded seven hits, drew three walks and had three batters hit by a pitch but stranded nine and went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position.

After failing to score through the first two innings against Tampa Bay opener Andrew Kittredge, Los Angeles began the third with a double from Jose Rojas (two hits) off Ryan Yarbrough. Rojas later scored when Jared Walsh drew a bases-loaded walk.

Ohtani's six walks matched a season high, and he has yielded 19 free passes over 18 2/3 innings through four starts this season. However, he allowed only a second-inning single to Phillips and struck out seven over five scoreless innings.

Ohtani's night ended after he walked the first two batters of the sixth. However, the Angels escaped unscathed when Chris Rodriguez got Yoshi Tsutsugo to hit into an inning-ending double play.

Prior to the game, Angels star Anthony Rendon was placed on the injured list due to a left knee contusion. He is batting .276 with three home runs and 11 RBIs in 15 games.
