ATLANTA -- An overturned call and a clutch two-out hit with the bases loaded in the eighth inning proved to be the winning combination on Friday as the Atlanta Braves posted a 4-2 victory over the Miami Marlins to end their four-game losing streak.

It appeared the threat ended when Atlanta catcher Tyler Flowers was called out at first base on what would have been an inning-ending double play. But the Braves appealed the call and the replay showed that Flowers beat the throw.

Right fielder Nick Markakis, in the throes of a 1-for-22 slump, then hit an opposite-field liner that glanced off the glove of third baseman Martin Prado and rolled into left field, allowing two runs to score. The play, originally ruled an error, was changed to a hit and two RBIs.

The Braves, who have won only 13 games, improved to 4-0 against the Marlins. The loss ended Miami's two-game winning streak.

The winning pitcher was Ian Krol (1-0), who pitched a scoreless eighth. Arodys Vizcaino worked a perfect ninth for his sixth save of the season.

The losing pitcher was David Phelps (3-3), who was tagged for four hits and two runs in his lone inning.

Atlanta starter Williams Perez received no decision. He pitched six innings and allowed two runs, seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts.

The Marlins scored two runs in the third to take a 2-0 lead. Center fielder Marcell Ozuna doubled in a run and first baseman Justin Bour knocked in a run with an infield grounder.

Atlanta scored two runs in the fifth to tie it. Flowers had an RBI double and left fielder Jeff Francoeur added an RBI single, which knocked Miami starter Adam Conley out of the game.

Conley pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed two runs, eight hits and one walk with a career-high three hit batsmen and a wild pitch. Conley failed to make it through a 1-2-3 inning.

Atlanta shortstop Erick Aybar left the game after being hit on the foot by a pitch in the fourth.

NOTES: The Braves recalled 3B/OF Adonis Garcia from Triple-A Gwinnett and designated INF Reid Brignac for assignment. In the 19 games played since being sent to the minors, Garcia was hitting .356 with four homers and 18 RBIs. ... The Marlins signed C Carlos Corporan to a minor league contract after he was released by Tampa Bay. ... Starting pitchers for Saturday's game are Miami LHP Wei-Yin Chen (3-2, 4.61 ERA) and Atlanta RHP Aaron Blair (0-3, 7.59), who will be recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to make the start.
