Mets 4, Marlins 2 (10): John Buck delivered a two-run single in the 10th inning and Juan Lagares went 3-for-3 with a two-run triple as visiting New York beat Miami for the second straight night.
The Mets loaded the bases with none out in the 10th against Steve Cishek (3-6) before Buck slapped a single through a drawn-in infield to snap the tie. Scott Atchison (1-0) pitched a scoreless ninth and Bobby Parnell worked around a two-out walk in the 10th for his 22nd save.
The Marlins didn't record a hit against rookie Zack Wheeler until Ed Lucas smacked a sharp single to right field with one out in the seventh. Wheeler lost the shutout two pitches later as Donovan Solano lined an RBI single to left to make it 2-1, and the lead was gone after Jake Marisnick looped the next pitch into center to score Lucas.
Wheeler was charged with two runs on three hits and struck out five over seven frames. Marlins starter Nathan Eovaldi struggled to find the strike zone, issuing five walks, but limited the damage to two runs over six innings.
The Mets had a chance to regain the lead in the eighth, but they wasted a leadoff triple by Marlon Byrd. Chad Qualls struck out Ike Davis, got Buck to ground out to third and fanned Omar Quintanilla to preserve the tie.
