Twins 10, Angels 9: Justin Morneau belted a two-run homer in the eighth inning and Denard Span had four of his team's 20 hits as host Minnesota rallied from a six-run deficit to out-slug Los Angeles for the second straight game.

Joe Mauer belted a three-run homer and Josh Willingham also went deep for the league-leading fourth time for the Twins, who posted a 6-5 triumph on Wednesday.

Mark Trumbo homered to highlight a five-run second inning and Peter Bourjos and Vernon Wells had RBI doubles for the Angels, who recorded an early-season high in runs in the loss.

After Bourjos' RBI single gave Los Angeles a 7-6 lead in the top of the eighth, Mauer led off the bottom half with a single to right field. Morneau then deposited an offering from Rich Thompson (0-1) over the fence in right field for his first homer.

Danny Valencia provided insurance with an RBI double in the eighth and Luke Hughes followed with a run-scoring single.

Jeff Gray (2-0), the Angels' fifth pitcher, worked one-third of an inning for the victory. Matt Capps got the save despite giving up two runs in the ninth.

After Minnesota scored three runs to tie the game at 6-6 in the seventh inning, Los Angeles quickly regained the lead in the eighth. Wells singled to center to lead off the frame, advanced to second on a wild pitch and came around to score on Bourjos' single to shallow left field.
