Marlins 9, Nationals 7 (10): Jose Reyes hit a two-run triple off Tyler Clippard in the top of the 10th inning as visiting Miami won the opener of the three-game series.

Washington, which rallied from an early four-run deficit to tie the game in the eighth on Mike Morse’s home run, leads Atlanta by 6 1/2 games in the National League East after losing for just the second time in its last 10 games.

Clippard (2-4) gave up back-to-back singles to Bryan Petersen and Justin Ruggiano before Reyes hit his second triple of the game past a diving Bryce Harper in center field. Reyes later scored on Carlos Lee’s sacrifice fly to left field.

Chad Gaudin (3-1) pitched a scoreless ninth inning for the win, and Steve Cishek allowed Morse’s RBI single in the 10th before striking out Roger Bernadina and Jayson Werth with the bases loaded for his 13th save.

Making what is expected to be his last start at Nationals Park this season, Stephen Strasburg was pulled after allowing five runs over three innings. Strasburg is set to make his final start at New York on Wednesday before being shut down for the year.

After Miami took a 2-0 lead in the first inning against Strasburg, the Nationals answered in the second. Ryan Zimmerman extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a two-run blast off Jacob Turner, who gave up two runs over six frames.

Rob Brantly homered in the second and the Marlins added to their lead with two more runs off Strasburg in the third on Giancarlo Stanton's homer and Donovan Solano’s RBI single.

Trailing 6-2 after four innings, the Nationals began their comeback with three runs in the seventh and tied the game with one out in the eighth on Morse’s 13th home run off A.J. Ramos.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami threatened in the top of the ninth with two runners on before Harper completed an inning-ending double play with a perfect throw from center field to nail Greg Dobbs at the plate. … Turner is still seeking his first win with Miami since being acquired from Detroit on July 23. … Washington was seeking its season-high sixth straight home victory. … The Nationals fell to 34-6 since the All-Star break when scoring three or more runs.
