Marlins 9, Blue Jays 0: John Buck burned his former team with a three-run homer and Mark Buehrle tossed seven solid innings as host Miami emphatically snapped a six-game losing skid.
Greg Dobbs went deep for the first time this season with a two-run homer in the sixth inning. Hanley Ramirez, who called a players-only meeting following Saturday's 7-1 loss, added a two-run triple in the seventh as Miami won for just the fifth time in 21 games this month.
After Scott Cousins plated Dobbs with an RBI single in the second inning, Buck belted a first-pitch fastball from Jesse Chavez (0-1) over the wall in left-center to give Miami a 4-0 lead. Buck, who played with Toronto during the 2010 season, has six homers this season - including two in his last three contests.
The offensive uprising was more than enough for Buehrle (6-8), who snapped a personal four-game losing skid. He scattered seven hits and struck out as many to pick up his first win since May 26.
Making his second career start, Chavez yielded six runs on seven hits in six innings.
