Blue Jays 7, Red Sox 3: J.P. Arencibia hit a tie-breaking home run in the seventh inning as visiting Toronto defeated Boston for the second straight night.

Arencibia capped a spirited Toronto comeback against Aaron Cook (2-3) with a solo shot over the Green Monster, his 14th homer of the season. Edwin Encarnacion also went deep and Brett Lawrie drove in three runs in his return to the lineup as the Blue Jays evened their record at 47-47.

Carlos Villanueva (5-0) overcame a Jarrod Saltalamacchia three-run homer to win his third consecutive start. He limited Boston to four hits over 6 1/3 innings while walking two and striking out five.

Cook was charged with five runs (four earned) on four hits with a walk and a strikeout.

Mired in an 0-for-14 slump, Saltalamacchia came up in the third inning and turned on a two-strike slider up in the zone, drilling it into the bullpen in right-center field for his 18th home run of the season. They were the first runs allowed by Villanueva since his June 29 start against Los Angeles.

Toronto responded with a run in the third, as Kelly Johnson hit a leadoff double and Yunel Escobar reached base after shortstop Pedro Ciriaco bobbled a routine ground ball. Travis Snider singled up the middle to load the bases, and Lawrie hit a fly ball to right field that easily scored Johnson.

Encarnacion put a charge into the Fenway Park crowd in the bottom of the sixth inning, launching a Cook fastball well over the Green Monster and out of the stadium. His 26th home run of the season brought home Colby Rasmus, who reached on a two-out walk.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Saltalamacchia came into the night hitting just 1-for-23 against Toronto this season, his only hit a home run off Jays reliever Jason Frasor in a 5-1 win June 26. ... Frasor was placed on the 15-day disabled list earlier Saturday with forearm stiffness, giving the Blue Jays a league-high nine pitchers on the DL. ... Lawrie returned after missing the series opener with a calf injury. His two-run double in the seventh snapped an 0-for-16 skid. ... LHP J.A. Happ and RHP Brandon Lyon, acquired by Toronto in a trade with Houston on Friday, both got into the action. Happ recorded the final two outs of the seventh inning while Lyon, who broke into the majors with Toronto in 2001, worked a perfect ninth.
